I have more than 20 years of experience working in the automotive engineering field, specifically on internal combustion engines, exhaust aftertreatment and fuels. I have published numerous journal papers and technical papers in these areas.

I was elected Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers for “For distinguished leadership and impact in advancing the understanding of fuel effects on combustion, particulates, and emissions controls; for exemplary service to and leadership within SAE; and for the development and leadership of well-recognized educational programs for working engineers and executives.”

I have significant experience with internal combustion engines and their integration with aftertreatment and into the vehicle through my work, teaching, research and experimental investigations of IC engines as noted above. In addition, I have worked on my personal engines and exhaust systems.
